First Impressions
The unboxing of the watch:
This was an interesting unboxing, the Oceaneva GMT Marine Explorer did not come in a box, in fact it came in a very nice brown leather watch roll. So, shooting a unboxing video didn't seem worth the time. Inside the watch roll, there was an cleaning cloth with the Oceaneva logo, the warranty card (which was already filled out), and a pin and spring bar tool and a small card with instructions. So, that was what there was during the unboxing.
The initial overview:
First impressions, the Oceaneva GMT Marine Explorer - it is a very nice diver. The fact that the WR is rated at 1250M is impressive in and of itself, but there are other things that make this an impressive diver, the case is very clean with the brushed stainless steel and the same can be said for the stainless steel bracelet. The clasp is very nice, with the Oceaneva logo engraved on it. This is the first Rhonda 515.24H movement that I have in my collection, and the GMT settings are going to take me a little bit to get used to - I will update this review when I have a better understanding of it. Overall the Oceaneva GMT Marine Explorer is a great addition to my collection, it will be a great timepiece to take with me to the Gulf this summer for snorkeling.
The fit:
The initial fit was a little loose, even for me, but with a few quick adjustments we were off to the races. This is a great looking watch, In comparison to most of my collection the Oceaneva GMT Marine Explorer is a rather conservative watch. It is only a conversation starter with the crowd that consist of divers or other watch collectors that know the brand. The Oceaneva GMT Marine Explorer can be worn as a daily wear, at the office - the lake - the beach and even a night out, and if you are a one-watch type of person, I would recommend this watch. It is a nice addition to my collection, and I will more than likely wear it more during the summers at the beach, I was in no way disappointed in receiving this great timepiece.
